An Equivalence Theorem for Series of Orthogonal Polynomials.
xj(u, v) = yj(u, v), j = 1, 2, 3, so that again (8) holds. Hence, under our hypotheses, D is mapped isothermically on a spherical surface of finite radius, and circles are not mapped on circles. III. Characterization of Those Isothermic Spherical Maps Which Map Circles on Circles and of Isothermic Maps on Minimal Surfaces.-THEOREM 3. متن کاملBishop-Phelps type Theorem for Normed Cones
In this paper the notion of support points of convex sets in normed cones is introduced and it is shown that in a continuous normed cone, under the appropriate conditions, the set of support points of a bounded Scott-closed convex set is nonempty. We also present a Bishop-Phelps type Theorem for normed cones.
متن کاملCommon fixed point theorem for nonexpansive type single valued mappings
The aim of this paper is to prove a common fixed point theorem for nonexpansive type single valued mappings which include both continuous and discontinuous mappings by relaxing the condition of continuity by weak reciprocally continuous mapping. Our result is generalize and extends the corresponding result of Jhade et al. [P.K. Jhade, A.S. Saluja and R. Kushwah, Coincidence and fixed points of ...
متن کاملOn absolute generalized Norlund summability of double orthogonal series
In the paper [Y. Okuyama, {it On the absolute generalized N"{o}rlund summability of orthogonal series},Tamkang J. Math. Vol. 33, No. 2, (2002), 161-165] the author has found some sufficient conditions under which an orthogonal seriesis summable $|N,p,q|$ almost everywhere. These conditions are expressed in terms of coefficients of the series. It is the purpose ofthis paper to extend this result...
متن کاملBlumenthal's Theorem for Laurent Orthogonal Polynomials
We investigate polynomials satisfying a three-term recurrence relation of the form Bn(x) = (x − βn)Bn−1(x) − αnxBn−2(x), with positive recurrence coefficients αn+1, βn (n = 1, 2, . . .). We show that the zeros are eigenvalues of a structured Hessenberg matrix and give the left and right eigenvectors of this matrix, from which we deduce Laurent orthogonality and the Gaussian quadrature formula. ...
